About
webkong is a browser version of arcade Donkey Kong with 1-Player and Co-op modes. Submit scores to the global leaderboard, download saved runs, and replay them later with .wkinp files.
Gameplay
webkong fully emulates the original Donkey Kong US Set 1 ROM. When playing 1-Player, the game logic is 100% authentic. The sound also comes from the ROM set, but is not being emulated exactly.
Multiplayer
Co-op keeps the original Donkey Kong game running while adding extra Marios on top of it. Your own Mario is driven locally by your browser for responsive movement and collision, while the server coordinates the shared run, other players, scores, deaths, pickups, rivets, hammers, and world events.
The top-left score shows the points you personally contributed. The center score shows everyone combined, including end-of-stage bonus points. Other players are drawn from network updates, so they may be slightly smoothed or delayed compared with your own character.
Each co-op run can be saved as a .wkinp replay. Because multiplayer is stitched together from several live players and a shared server state, co-op is designed to feel close to arcade Donkey Kong while still handling network timing and synchronization.
How To Play
Choose 1-Player for a classic solo run, or Co-op to play alongside other connected players.
- Dodge barrels, fireballs, springs, and other hazards.
- Climb ladders, grab hammers, collect items, and rescue Pauline.
- In Co-op, everyone contributes to the run and scores are saved together.

Replays
Use Play .wkinp on the leaderboard panel to load a saved replay, scrub through it, change playback speed, or download leaderboard runs.
